Testing a rule before you turn it on

Before activating a new rule, you can test it to see what it would flag, without creating any live violations yet.

Test a rule

1. Write the rule as usual, but choose Save as draft instead of activating it.
2. Click Test.
3. Review the preview of what content would be flagged.
4. Adjust the rule if the results look too broad or too narrow, then activate when you're satisfied.

When testing is worth the extra step

This step is optional but recommended for any rule where you're not fully confident how it will behave against your team's real content.
