Key terms in Launch: campaign, launch, preflight, violation, scan

Last reviewed Sep 6, 2026

Launch uses plain, everyday marketing language, but a handful of words carry a precise meaning inside the product. Here's what each one means.

The five terms, defined

  • Campaign — A marketing initiative: an ad push, an email sequence, a landing page update, a pricing change. The thing Launch tracks.
  • Launch (the record) — The record of a specific campaign as it moves through Launch, from draft to go live and beyond.
  • Preflight — The set of readiness checks a campaign must pass before it can go live.
  • Violation — An instance where a campaign or asset breaks a brand rule you've set.
  • Scan — A single run of Scan looking across your connected systems and public web presence for campaigns.
