How Scan avoids creating duplicate campaigns

Last reviewed Sep 6, 2026

When Scan detects something that closely resembles a campaign you've already confirmed, it doesn't automatically create a second record. Instead, it flags the new finding as a likely match to the existing campaign.

How the match is made

Scan compares signals such as shared assets, similar timing, and overlapping systems. When enough of these line up, the finding is presented as a probable duplicate rather than a new campaign.

What you can do with a likely match

  • Merge the finding into the existing campaign, adding any new assets Scan found to that record.
  • Confirm it as a genuinely separate campaign, if you know it isn't the same one.
  • Dismiss it, if it isn't relevant.

When the match is wrong

This matching is not perfect. If Scan merges something that should have been separate, or misses a duplicate, you can correct it manually from the finding's quick-look drawer.
