Ownership does not change hands automatically
When an Owner initiates a transfer, the recipient needs to take some action before ownership actually changes hands, rather than the transfer completing automatically.
The exact acceptance flow for the recipient, including where the confirmation happens and what they see beforehand, is still being designed. This article will be updated with clear steps once that flow is finalised.

What's confirmed today is that a transfer isn't final until the recipient has explicitly accepted it; the current Owner retains the role until that happens.
