Not every violation needs the underlying content changed. When a violation is a false match, or is acceptable for a specific reason, dismiss it instead of closing it.
Dismiss a violation
Recording the reason as you dismiss
- Open the violation.
- Click Dismiss.
- Write a reason explaining why.
- Confirm.
Why a written reason is required
A dismissal without a reason would be indistinguishable from a fix that was never actually made. Requiring a written reason keeps the record honest and gives your team useful context if the same rule flags similar content again later.
